I know I made a big deal out of no longer needing Thrive because we discovered that the “active ingredient” (at least for me!) was caffeine. The shakes were a little (or a LOT) more carby than I wanted, even when made with low-carb milk and the patch? Meh…couldn’t really tell if it was or wasn’t working.
Problem was, I set out to find a supplement with similar ingredients…same vitamins, minerals, garcinia, cinnamon, guarana, green coffee extract, green tea, etc. I couldn’t find anything that came close, and the cost of ordering multiple vitamins and supplements separately would cost more than the cost of Thrive!
Plus, I hate swallowing pills and most supplements are huge! So…I went back on just the vitamins, because I had some left. I felt better and no longer needed the Stay Awake pills most days.
The scale started moving again, after a stall.
I decided I would JUST take the pills but then I realized that my beloved Premier Protein shakes have too much protein. I’m trying to stay within a certain macro range and 30g of protein was just pushing me over every day! While I don’t particularly care for Thrive made with water, but I didn’t want the carbs in milk, I decided to order some powdered coconut oil to add more fat (needed for my macros) and up the creaminess factor. Score! I add raw cacao powder sometimes too, and it’s great! I add a little extra liquid since the shakes taste very sweet now that I no longer eat sugar. And they are only 13g of protein and 9 net carbs when made with water and heavy whipping cream. YUM!
